The word ‘Avventura’ is Italian for ‘Adventure’. Couple the English word with ‘Fiat’ and it could remind you of its namesake from a decade ago. The vehicle still follows the same path as the previous Adventure – rugged bodywork and updated suspension setup that enables it to be better at tackling off-road and broken road surfaces than the hatchback it is based on.
The FIAT Avventura is available in five variants – Active and Dynamic with petrol and Active, Dynamic and Emotion with diesel. It is FIAT’s take on this growing segment of cross-hatchbacks and will take on the Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross in the segment. Unlike its competitors though, the Avventura is more thoroughly worked out to differentiate it from its hatchback donor.
Along with the features of the Dynamic, you get dual front airbags, 3- Point ELR Seat Belts with Pretensions & Load Limiters, height adjustable front seat belts, ambient lighting on dashboard, automatic climate control, rear ac vents, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, rear defogger/washer/wiper, rear 60:40 split seats, Blue and Me, Voice readout, SMS readout, steering mounted audio controls.
FIAT Avventura is designed keeping Indian conditions and need in mind. The car will be produced at FIAT’s Ranjangaon plant in Pune and will be initially sold in India. Avventura is a milestone product for FIAT India as it is the first Contemporary Utility Vehicle conceptualised for India and completely manufactured in India.
This new FIAT gets tailgate mounted spare tire, body cladding and best-in-segment best ground clearance figures of about 205 mm. Speaking about standard features the Avventura crossover gets a compass and tilt meter along with 16-inch alloy wheels. It is expected to be a strong competitor against Toyota’s Etios Cross.
