One Oregon couple’s planned adventure was picked up by a local Oregon newspaper, and it is shaping up to becoming one of the most interesting stories of the year that includes Jeep, even if it isn’t direct.
Jared Simpson and his wife who are avid travelers and Jeep enthusiasts are planning to take Snort, their 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to the southern tip of South Africa, and for the next two or three years unearth nearly every area of the large and unforgiving continent.
The two of them are putting aside their careers and current lives to take a leap into something more adventurous and unusual. Something that both are quoted as being incredibly excited for. But the real question is how will the Jeep handle the 25,000 miles over the next couple of years. At first mention, 25 thousand miles sounds quite simple, but in Africa where it is dry, hot and unpredictable, this Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a custom build has been groomed and prepared for this trip.
Urse Jeep claims the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, regardless of its model year is the best suited SUV to handle such a pilgrimage. The couple has handled numerous vacations and stays in parts of Africa, such as South Africa, but this is something totally different. This is uprooting your life and taking a chance at a once and a lifetime adventure, and good for them for doing so.
All of their journey will be well documented on their blog Pioneering Spirit. There has been no mentions of Jeep sponsoring, or trying to endorse this adventure, but chances are if they have a smart marketing team, they will latch onto this adventure and enjoy the ride.
