Tuning companies are more and more prevalent at the yearly Geneva Motor Show, and there is a reason for that. When a tuning company comes out with a specification like the Brabus’ latest crazy idea, people will take notice. What makes their new specification interesting, is the fact that the German company is normally known for their aesthetic designs and not their engine tunings. Their latest work however, will be more about sheer power than aesthetic appeal.
Brabus showed many interesting things at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, but their undoubtedly craziest design was the one that involved a Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG. They dubbed their creation Brabus Rocket 900, which, although wasn’t the only the powerful car at the auto show, still took the crown when it came to sheer power. The 900 – as you probably figured it out by now – represents the car’s enormous horsepower output.
The aerospace themed name seems fitting, because this tremendous amount of sheer power can really only be found in rockets. It all started with the displacement, which Brabus changed from 6.0 liter to 6.3. The new crankshaft and intake – in addition to the larger turbo chargers -, made it possible for them to reach that enormous power output.
