The superfast V8 cars that are set to perform at the SuperSprint racing events, will now be equipped with the Dunlop’s soft tires. Currently, only the Saturday races of SKYCITY Triple Crown Darwin round, which will start from next month, will Feature the new V8 vehicles with soft tires, nonetheless it is expected that these tires will be used in other events in the future.
The V8 Supercars Commission has decided that 3 sets of Dunlop hard tires and 2 sets of soft tires will be installed on the V8 cars that will race on the Darwin event. For the qualifying round on Saturday, the teams will use the same tires. The qualifying team for the first Saturday event will make use of hard compound tires while the team which qualifies for the second Saturday race will use the soft compound tires.
The remaining sets are available only for the teams that will race on the second qualifying session, however they can only be used for the Saturday races and can’t be used for any racing event on Sundays.
