Compact SUVs have made lot of impact in the past few years and many automakers are coming up with better technologies and design that can impress car buyers around the world. Volkswagen has now made an announcement that they are introducing T-ROC that will offer new look to how future SUVs will appear in the future. Volkswagen believes that they have come up with strong design that makes an instant impression. The new Volkswagen T-ROC will be available for display at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show for the visitors.
Sharing more information on the design, Volkswagen said that the new T-ROC design is based on the modular transverse matrix platform also known as MQB platform. The new car will be 4,179 mm long, 1,831 mm wide and 1,501 mm high. It will also have a progressive design on the front end of the vehicle which will demonstrate how future Volkswagen SUVs will be. The new Volkswagen T-ROC comes with LED Spotlights that offer better visibility in poor light conditions and bad weather. The front fascia also has a distinctive honeycomb grille, swivel controlled LED exterior lighting and rugged trim, front fenders and black matte roof. The most striking feature of T-ROC is that it has a removable section of roof that can be stowed in the boot. The concept car also has 4Motion permanent all wheel drive with a Haldex 5 coupling.
Under the hood
The new concept vehicle is powered by a direct injected 2.0 liter turbodiesel four engine that can generate 182 horsepower that is mated with seven speed dual clutch transmission. The concept car also has hill descent and hill start assist. The car can accelerate zero to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds which is pretty good performance. Volkswagen T-ROC comes with cameras on the front and rear offer better view to the driver. The car can be driven in three driving modes: Street, Offroad and Snow.
Interior
The interior of the vehicle is very futuristic and therefore only digital instruments and digital climate control technology is incorporated. It also comes with a portable tablet that serves as infotainment display while the car is in motion. The car offers comfort and space for four and also has a big 12.3 inch TFT display that can handle tough conditions as well. The seats have leather covering but the rest of the interior still gets a ruggedized feel factor that symbolizes the adventurous factor of the car.
